Favorite world: Do you prefer to focus on the outer world or on your own inner world? This is called Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I).
Information: Do you prefer to focus on the basic information you take in or do you prefer to interpret and add meaning? This is called Sensing (S) or Intuition (N).
Decisions: When making decisions, do you prefer to first look at logic and consistency or first look at the people and special circumstances? This is called Thinking (T) or Feeling (F).
Structure: In dealing with the outside world, do you prefer to get things decided or do you prefer to stay open to new information and options? This is called Judging (J) or Perceiving (P).
I have been taking free online tests to learn my type and two things are very clear:
1. I am Introverted (score 70/100).
2. I am Intuitive (score 90/100).
The other scores fluctuate. Sometimes I score on the left and sometimes I score on the right. I can tell that the difference is due to coping mechanisms. The answer I would have given has been modified because I have learned coping mechanisms to behave in a new way. This means that the psychological struggle is still present but the behavior has been modified.
For example, I am acutely aware of the bigger picture and I like to stay open to alternate solutions, but I have learned to just get things done. Loyalty would make me a Feeling person, but logic is important, too.
So far, I have scored as INTP and INTJ, but can relate to INFP, also. I hope to explore this more as part of my recovery program.
