I have written at least 100 posts about many scary things the narcissist did; but I haven’t written about the scariest until today. The final few weeks that we were together, he had a new project that he was so excited about. He said it was one of the most useful and truthful things he had ever come across in his whole life and he was eager to test some of his new learning on me. What got the narcissist so excited? It was a book he was reading, not just reading, studying. He was using it as a manual to learn new skills. So what, right? He could learn fly-fishing from a book or how to knit doilies, but he is a narcissist.
You know how you get that feeling that something is very wrong, but you just can’t put it into words? Well, that was the feeling I got when he told me about the book.
I went to the bookstore tonight and bought a copy for myself and here’s what it says on the book jacket:
Get what you want by manipulating everyone’s greatest weakness: the desire for pleasure.
Choose the Right Victim
Create a False Sense of Security – Approach Indirectly
Send Mixed Signals
Appear to Be an Object of Desire – Create Triangles
