I wish that I had time to write about my first December of working retail during the Xmas season, but I am too busy. I leave you with one short story (:
I was ringing up a customer at the register, and I said “Happy holidays.”
She went off on me!
oh… my… GAWD. DO NOT EVEN SAY THAT TO ME! I AM UNDER SO MUCH PRESSURE AND I CAN’T EVEN TAKE IT. I DON’T WANT TO HEAR THAT FROM EVEN ONE MORE PERSON!
Oh my! This surprised me, I expected you to write that she said “Merry Christmas. It’s not about holidays, it’s about Christmas.”
I’m so sorry that you experienced this reprimand. I’m sorry for her that she is so overwhelmed and stressed. How sad.
It is sad that she felt so overwhelmed. However, I said “Happy holidays” because it was the 7th night of Chanukah. You might have noticed the name of my blog… Yiddishkeit? I am Jewish, aka a Hebrew, aka not celebrating Xmas. Thank you for commenting.
I knpw you are Jewish. Thats why i stayed, i wanted to get to know and possibly befriend one of God’s chosen ones. It’s an honor, hope you dont mind.
