I had a commitment to visit sponsors for the Homeless Coalition today, and it got cancelled. Yeah! I haven’t showered yet and I was trying to pick out an outfit to wear that wouldn’t scream ‘poverty’. I really need to get some business clothes. Thank you, Hashem, for giving me the day off! Snow Day!
This morning (late), I took my dad’s dog in the backyard, stood barefoot in the grass (in my nightgown), and soaked up a little sun. I said my morning prayers [Thank you for opening my eyes. Thank you for removing my burdens. Thank you for dressing me in midot (good character). Thank you for giving me strength. Thank you for placing firm earth beneath my feet and directing my steps. Thank you for removing my fear.]
While I was standing in the sunlight, I knew what I needed to do.
– I need to exercise.
– I need to soak up more sunlight. (Vitamin D & light therapy)
– I need to study Torah.
– I need to practice speaking Hebrew.
– I need to eat better.
What I have been doing is eating a lot of chocolate and moping. But I can do this. I can. I can. I can.
I CAN FEEL BETTER… i will.
